Meet Kw’umut Lelum’s Wellness Navigator
Finding the right support for a child or youth can feel confusing. Families may not know what services are available, who to contact, or how to apply. Kw’umut Lelum’s new Wellness Navigator is here to help.
Ramona Passarello
Ramona Passarello is the Wellness Navigator, working from our Nanaimo office. She supports children and youth from Kw’umut Lelum’s nine Member Nations who are experiencing developmental, behavioural, mental health, social-emotional, or school-related challenges.
How can Ramona help?
Ramona listens to each family’s concerns and helps identify what support their child or youth may need. She can work with families to create a support plan and connect them with services such as:
Occupational therapy
Speech-language therapy
Physiotherapy
Counselling
Tutoring and learning support
Behavioural support
Specialized assessments
Ramona can also help with referrals and funding applications. With the family’s permission, she can work with schools, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other services to build a strong circle of support around the child or youth.
Families do not need to know exactly what kind of help they need before reaching out. Ramona can answer questions, help families understand their options, and guide them through the next steps.
The Wellness Navigator is available to children, youth, and families from Halalt, Lyackson, Málexeł, Penelakut, Qualicum, Snaw-naw-as, Snuneymuxw, Stz’uminus, and Ts’uubaa-asatx.
You do not have to navigate services alone.
