KL Piloting a 4-day Work Week

Kw’umut Lelum is piloting a new 4-day work week beginning July 6th in an effort to enhance employee wellness, boost productivity and creativity and reduce time commuting to and from work.

This new approach will see employees working the same number of hours per week, but condensed into 4 days instead of five. There will be no reduction in service delivery and in fact, our office hours are being extended – we are open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

As we begin to emerge from the pandemic crisis, we recognized a need to find creative solutions to creating work-life balance for our employees while ensuring our essential services could be maintained.

The pilot will be evaluated – on measures of productivity, employee satisfaction and operational capacity – before determining whether or not to adopt the 4-day work week on a permanent basis.
