Kw’umut Lelum Presents a free Indigenous Youth Conference
Saturday, February 22, 9:00am – 8:30pm
Vancouver Island Conference Centre, Nanaimo
A day of workshops, culture and fun with Suzette Amaya and Mike Scott. Dance Party with Vancouver's DJ Staniml.
Open to youth Ages 13-19 (17 and under must be accompanied by a chaperone)
Early Registration until January 19th open to any youth with a connection to Kw'umut Lelum's 9 Member Nations (Qualicum, Snaw-Naw-As, Snuneymuxw, Stz'uminus, Penelakut, Lyackson, Ts'uubaa-asatx, Halalt, Malahat).
Interactive Workshops include
Dream Big: Goal Setting
Sobriety, Addictions and Living the Good Life
Promotion of Life/Suicide Prevention
Healthy Relationships
The day includes lunch, dinner and a DJ dance party
Participants will also have access to a variety of wellness partners and resources, cultural support from Elders, and on-site counselling supports where needed.
While registration is absolutely free, you must arrange your own transportation.

9:00am Opening Prayer, Welcome from Snuneymuxw and Kw’umut Lelum
9:30 – 10:30am Dream Big – Goal Setting facilitated by Suzette Amaya
10:30-11:00am BREAK
11:00 – 12:00 Sobriety: Addictions To Living The Good Life facilitated by Mike Scott
12:00 – 1:00pm LUNCH
1:00 – 2:30pm Promotion of Life – Suicide Prevention facilitated by Suzette Amaya
2:30 – 3:00pm BREAK
3:00 – 4:00pm Healthy Relationships facilitated by Mike Scott
4:00 – 6:00pm FREE TIME / JAM SESSION
6:00 – 8:30pm Dinner and Dance with DJ Staniml
