Children, families and caregivers from all of our Member Nations had a chance to celebrate the season at the KL Children's Christmas Party December 13th.
The BC Forest Discovery Centre hosted more than 200 children and adults for an evening of fun and festivity. We got to ride the train, marvel at the beautiful lights, dance and sing along to music by the Big Mess band, and eat plenty of treats. Our Early Years team set up a cookie decorating station, and had children create paper ornaments to adorn a "gratitude tree" to be delivered to Santa Claus. And speaking of the big man in the red suit, he was on hand to take pictures that were printed on cards to take home as a keepsake.
The smiling faces of all the children were enough to warm even the grinchiest heart!
Kw'umut Lelum wishes to thank everyone involved who helped to make this evening possible! To our staff, caregivers, everyone at the BC Forest Discovery Centre, our Member Nations and to Snuneymuxw First Nation in particular who provided us with a last-minute bus to help with transportation: many huy ch q'as!
