The Four Seasons cultural program held its first moccasin workshop of the new year. With guidance from Joy Bremner and friends from the Mid-Island Metis Nation, the workshop was a hit for kids and adults alike. Children, youth, caregivers and staff create both beautiful and functional moccasins. The night started off with dinner where everyone enjoyed socializing and reconnecting. Joy and friends were helpful and inspirational and the children and youth showed a great deal of pride and while creating their very own leather moccasins. Everyone is looking forward to finishing their moccasins! Future sessions are scheduled for Monday, February 2 in Nanaimo. KL is also running this program in Halalt on Wednesday, February 11 and Wednesday, February 18. For more information please contact Britta.
