Kwumut Lelum is governed by nine Board Members representing the nine Coast Salish Nations that it serves. One board member and an alternative are appointed from each community by Chief and Council.

The goal of Kw'umut Lelum is to build on the wisdom of the Sulhween (Elders) which ensures that Elders are helping to keep children safe and families healthy, strong, and happy. For Kw'umut Lelum to be strong it must reflect the traditional values and beliefs, and have your support- nuts'umat (working towards being one).

"I am your Elder for the Coast Salish traditional ways and I am treated well, respected and honoured. S'ul'hween snuw'uyulh (Elders teachings) Its not a part of the programs. Never had it before but now everybody is there helping"
